The Cotabato State University-Graduate School conducted a community extension activity on March 21, 2023 (Monday) at the Municipal Gymnasium of the Local Government Unit of Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao. This extension activity aims to achieve the realization of the goals and objectives of the CSU particularly to improve the peoples’ lives by providing extension services and programs that focus on economic growth promotion of healthy communities, people and environment.
The different programs of the Graduate School such as the Business Administration, Social Work, Maed- English, and Peace and Development delivered a lecture to the participants who are Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Programs (4 Ps) beneficiaries of the Municipality of Sultan Mastura. “It is deep longing of the university to extend programs and services that will assist our stakeholders like this community extension in which we are sharing our knowledge and skills particularly in the areas of entrepreneurship and poverty alleviation programs and services,” Dr. Tarhata Guiamalon, Dean of the Graduate School, said in her opening remarks. Ms. Johara Kagui, RSW, MSSW student, discussed the importance of gender equality and the role of men and women in the society.
This was followed by Mr. Al-John Escobañez and Mr. Tata Usman, MBA students, delivered a lecture on Financial Literacy and Livelihood Programs respectively. In addition, Dr. Marilyn Billones, MAEd-English Program Head, discoursed the importance of communication. And lastly, Dr. Jose Arnold Alferez, spoke about inner peace. Ms. Elene Toribio, Municipal Social Work Officer, expressed her gratitude to the CSU-Graduate School team and to the 4 Ps beneficiaries for the active participation in the seminar conducted. Ms. Toribio also stated that the Municipal of Sultan Mastura in very much willing for future endeavors and collaborations. “Masaya po kami dahil marami po kaming natutunan sa araw na ito na maari naming maibahagi sa aming pamilya katulad ng wastong paraan nang paggasta ng pera,” Ms. Saida Hamsa, one of the participants, said during the processing facilitated by Dr. Emraida Ali, MBA Program Head.
