The CRMC organized the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) between the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and Cotabato State University (CSU) during the National Hospital Week 2023 celebration today, August 7, 2023 held at the CRMC Grand Auditorium, Cotabato City. 

       The signing of the MOU was led by Dr. John O. Maliga, Chief Medical Professional Staff (sitting from the left), Dr. Ishmael R. Dimaren, Medical Center Chief III, (2nd from the left), Dr. Sema G. Dilna, CSU President Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual (3rd from the left), and Dr. Kundo M. Pahm Jr., CSU Vice President for Academic Affairs (right). No less than DOH Undersecretary Dr. Abdullah B. Dumama Jr. bear witness to the signing of the MOA with dr. Aristides Conception Tan, DOH SOCCSKSARGEN Region Director and Dr. Teng A. Alim, CSU Vice President for Research, Extension and Production.

       This Memorandum of Understanding is a prelude to the signing of the Consortium Agreement by both parties in the establishment and operations of the medical school. This initiative is in support to Republic Act 11509, known as the Doctor Para sa Bayan Law, signed on December 23, 2020 by President Rodrigo Duterte. Through this initiative, the CSU and CRMC will be able to assist the government to address the shortage of doctors across the country and in providing accessible primary health care especially in rural or underserved areas. //Tarhata Piang Solaiman-Guiamalon
