Prof. Dr. Saidamin P. Bagolong, Director for Policy and Scientific Publication, attended the Training Workshop on Research Methods for Gender and Development Studies from February 22-23, 2023, at the VIP Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. He was joined by other directors, administrators, researchers, and faculty members from various public and private higher education institutions and national government agencies in the Philippines. The Association of Scholarly Editors, in cooperation with the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR), hosted the training workshop intending to determine the scientific sources of gender publications, learn the research framework for gender and development studies, explore research methods for gender research, and utilize the results of gender research for policy, program, and advocacy.
The training workshop focused on the State of Published and Online Accessible GAD Research in the Philippines and its Emerging Trends in Content and Methods and Research Gaps, the Methods of GAD Research: Mixed, Quantitative, and Qualitative Designs, exploring GAD Research Agenda for the Organization, conceptualizing capsule GAD Research Reviews and Proposals, writing the RRL for GAD, incorporating technologies of GAD Research, and establishing Partnerships, Linkages, and Funding Relationships.
Through this training workshop, Prof. Dr. Bagolong will incorporate the lessons learned by sharing the acquired knowledge through integrating learning in revising the Research Manual and sharing this with the faculty members, fostering a more comprehensive understanding of gender dynamics in our research proposals for faculty and students. //Saidamin P.
