In response to CSU's goal to improve the quality of life of the communities through the implementation of extension services, the public administration program conducted its annual community extension services project dubbed "Reformed Initiatives for Sustainable Empowerment Using Participatory approach to Bridge Unemployment through Leadership Discourse to bring Organizational Network or RISE UP BULDON project" with the theme "Ang Magaling na Pamantasan Tumutulong sa Pamayanan."
This is a new banner project of the public administration program, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, after the termination of the Community Services Caravan, which was implemented from 2018 to 2021, at Barangay Solon, Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao, Barangay Kalanganan II, Cotabato City, and Barangay Darapanan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao. This project is on its way to evaluation based on attaining its objectives.
The RISE UP BULDON Project aimed to train leaders and other sectors to address community issues in their barangay; capacitate in fostering a better barangay responsive to community needs; and promote competent, ethical, and innovative leaders in the public sector. This project will help our community beneficiaries to become self-directed and empowered individuals, bridging the gap between the communities and the Barangay Officials.
The activity was conducted from December 1 to 3, 2022, at the Barangay Minabay, Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte. It was participated by the community members, functionaries and faculty members, and students of the Public Administration program. Various topics were discussed to ensure an understanding of the relevance of Barangay Good Governance.
This caravan was spearheaded by Dr. Saidamin P. Bagolong, concurrent Director for External and International Linkages and Program Head of the Graduate School Public Administration, in cooperation with the Director of the Office of Extension Services, Dr. Samsia A. Ibrahim. //Saidamin P. Bagolong.
