In response to CSU's goal to improve the quality of life of the communities through the implementation of extension services, the public administration program conducted its annual community extension services project dubbed as "Community Services Caravan 2.0- Seminar-Workshop on Harnessing Barangay Leadership and Governance for Sustainable Community Development" with the theme "Ang Magaling na Pamantasan Tumutulong sa Pamayanan."
The Community Services Caravan 2.0 aimed to train barangay leaders and other sectors to address community issues in their barangay; capacitate fostering a better barangay responsive to youth and other sectors through a thorough concept of leadership and good governance; and promote competent, ethical, and innovative leaders in the public sector.
The caravan was conducted on September 29-30, 2021, at the Barangay Hall, Kalanganan II, and was participated by the functionaries and the faculty members of the Public Administration program. Various topics were discussed to ensure understanding of the relevance of Barangay Leadership and Governance for Sustainable Community Development.
On the first day, Dr. Mhd Faheem M. Aliuden discussed Barangay Public Service as a Calling. At the same time, Dr. Abdul M. Pagayao was assigned to discuss federalism, and Dr. Ainonnacirin A. Abdulgani shared his knowledge on Adjudication and Settlement of Disputes and Rendition of Public Opinions. On the second day, Dr. Radzak A. Sam explained the Barangay justice system to the participants, and Dr. Sylvia A. Delosa lectured on Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management.
This caravan was spearheaded by Dr. Saidamin P. Bagolong, concurrent Director for External and International Linkages and Coordinator of Public Administration Program, in cooperation with the Director for Office of Extension Services, Dr. Samsia A. Ibrahim //Saidamin P. Bagolong.
